We celebrated Oscar’s birthday over the course of several days, which we believe in our house, is the only way to do it.
Thursday was the most beautiful day! We spent the day as a family at the zoo. Oscar giggled at the penguins, smiled at the seals, waved at the baboons, and smiled at everyone we passed. It was so sweet. That afternoon, Nana brought Oscar a cupcake so he would have a treat on his actual birthday, and so he could “practice” before his party on Saturday. Needless to say, the boy didn’t need to practice.
Saturday was great. Family came over for cake and ice cream. Oscar loved all of the attention and lovin’ from grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was fascinated watching the “big boy” nephews play, and would have let our two nieces carry and kiss on him all day.
