- to start posting more than once every 2 months.
- to get back to using my good camera again, because….
a smattering of family, food, and art for our friends
After a big thunder boom that made him spill his milk at breakfast…
Oscar: “Whoa. My milk even jumped.”
A million times a day…
Henry: “Stop it.”
When I asked her to line up the shoes by the door…
Evelyn: “There. Nice and meat.”
At any sound that sounds close to a toot (even when Daddy isn’t home)…
Henry: “Daddy toot!”
When he sees Greg and I hug…
Oscar: “I want in on this.” (weasels his way in)
When she’s thirsty…
Evelyn: “Can I have some nice tea?”
The morning after he ate an entire personal pizza…
Oscar: “Mom, I think I grew last night … because … remember when I ate that whole pizza?
After I told Henry “no”…
Evelyn: “Hen, you’re a bad boy.”
Maggie: “No he’s not.”
Evelyn: “He’s a great boy?”
Evelyn: “I’m not a bad boy.”
Evelyn: “I’m a great girl.”
Whenever I sneeze (which isn’t the most dainty thing)…
Henry: “OK? OK, Mama?”
After some thunder…
Evelyn: “It’s going to rain. And storm. And will there be a tomato in the sky?”
Maggie: “A tornado?”
Evelyn: “Yea, a tomato.”
Planning for the future…
Oscar: “When I grow up I want to be an astronaut, race car driver, and a dad.”
Feeling extra lucky that we get to be their parents.
We celebrated our
baby big boy over the weekend. Can’t believe this fella is 2!
When your birthday falls on a holiday weekend, your celebration means family, cooking out, and playing in the water.
And on his actual birthday yesterday, we had a nice day just the 5 of us. More water sliding, neighborhood pooling, and of course started the day with birthday donuts.
And just like that, we have a 1st grader.
The last week of school had a few exciting activities for our big guy.
Field Day: Oscar was very excited about the chance to earn ribbons. Maybe more than the games himself, which surprised us because he’s not super competitive most of the time. He got two 1st place ribbons (race and frisbee throwing) and another for a relay race. I think he’s nearly slept with the ribbons since Field Day.
Then Monday, he had the KIndy 500, which was maybe the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
Our speedy guy gor 1st in the first two heats, and in the final race placed 3rd. I think he was a little sad he didn’t bring it all home, but he had fun and was a good sport.
All this fast running and challenging me to a race for all my cross country ribbons, I’m beginning to wonder if we have a runner on our hands. Now, if only I could get him to be fast when getting ready for church.
After today, Oscar just has 8 days of Kindergarten left. To say that we’re all excited to have him home every day and for our summer schedule (or lack there of) would be an understatement.
Looking forward to more “outside all day” days.
A slower pace.
It has been a full and fun week here.
Oscar had 2 baseball games this week, where he played catcher and center field.
Everyone is excited that the shaved ice truck a half mile away is open again!
We celebrated Mother’s Day at home today with a family nap, BBQ chicken, and time outside (even put the kids to work some).
He might’ve made me older than I am, but I still loved reading what he wrote. Also, he told me the last one is “cuddle with me” though I do love coloring with him too!
We even managed to have some down time.
Everyone loves a good back scratch from GG.
As the school year winds down, the calendar has been a bit full, but we’re having fun! We’re loving the longer days, dinners outside, later bedtimes, and are all looking forward to summer!
We’re all excited for the return of baseball season. The game is great, but also, how cute is this little fella in his uniform!?!?
These two like baseball season too. Slushies, clapping, dogs at the park, twizzlers for dinner during a 6:00 game…What’s not to love?
So thankful for a balanced calendar and two fun weeks with Oscar home!
We had a nice balance of lazy days and fun activities.
We celebrated the bigs’ birthdays with family.
We went to the Children’s Museum.
We celebrated Easter with my family.
We went to the zoo.
We’ve played outside lots.
We Lego’d – a lot!
And in all that fun, we’ve even had some down time…
…in between the wrestling matches!
Back to routine tomorrow…and while Oscar loves school and is excited to go back, I’m already looking forward to a fun summer with these three!
